Seasoning the Traeger Silverton 620
After the unboxing of the Traeger Silverton 620 from Costco, it took over 2 weeks to get around to seasoning the grill
Taken from the Traeger website
“Before cooking the first batch of food in your new Traeger, you will need to season your grill. This simple, one-time initial firing process will burn off any residual, non-toxic oils from the manufacturing process and help create non-stick surfaces so that you get the most out of your Traeger Wood Pellet Grill.”

For me, this process took around 2 hours, with trying to film the process as well, the video has been cut down to just under 6 mintues the wind did cause extra noise on the microphone again, i’m still not sure that my phone is using the Synco G2A2 that I purchased, and just using its internal microphone, I have some additional testing to do for that, and will update once I start to understand how to combat the wind noise that I keep encountering
The process itself is pretty easy, after loading the hopper with a full bag of 20lb pellets, you will need to start the Auger, this will collect pellets from the hopper and take them to the FireBox, from there, just set the temperature controls to the relevant temperature, once the grill is at the desired temperature, this will need to run for 20-30 minutes, once completed, you will need to increase the temperature, and again once the grill reaches the required temperature, let it run for 20-30 minutes
Once the allocated time has been reached, you will need to run through the shut down process, this took about 25 minutes, after this has finished, you are now ready to start cooking
